IMPORTANT - BEFORE YOU BUY ...

In August 2007 we announced that Dolphin Professional product line is no longer being enhanced. However, we have recently made public a collaboration with Lesser Software where the Dolphin environment is being moved to their high performance Windows VM. This will form the basis of Dolphin NG and will exist under a new pricing structure (yet to be decided). All Dolphin Professional code should run with little or no change on Dolphin NG and Professional owners will received a substantial discount against the cost of the NG version when it arrives. Until that time some limited support will remain in place for the current X6 version via the Dolphin newsgroup.

New users should bear the above in mind when purchasing Dolphin Professional.

A new full copy of Dolphin Smalltalk X6 Professional costs $475 (plus applicable taxes if you live in the EU). If you are an existing customer then upgrade pricing depends on your current version and when it was purchased.

Dolphin's MVP framework continues to appear daunting to new Smalltalk users and yet it's really rather similar to Visual Basic but with "more wing nuts". Perhaps revisting the design rationale behind MVP might help? [more]

As you may know, we launched the Dolphin video library about a month ago with the start of a series of in-depth screencast videos showing how to use Dolphin Smalltalk to build an animated game.
